Week 21 Weigh-In

This morning I weighed 312.8 lbs. This is 2.2 lbs. less than last week making for a total 67.2 lbs. loss. My body fat measured at 33.1% which is 2.2% less than last week (I don't trust the accuracy here). This leaves me with a lean mass of 209.3 lbs. which is a 5.5 lb. gain, and 103.5 lbs. fat which is a 7.7 lb. loss.

One of these days, I will need to get my body fat tested by a professional. I can't take my own measurements seriously. I am not sure that it was worth it to start taking these measurements. I thought it would be a help to me, but all it tells me is how inaccurate these measurements are. At this rate, I will be 280 lbs of lean mass by the end of the summer, lol. I guess I will still take the measurements in hopes that it will start making sense.

In the mean time, I will include my waist measurement from week to week. Today, it is 55.25 inches. I have mentioned before that this is odd. I have pants size 52 that are too big, but size 50 fits great (I can squeeze into a 48). I took a tape measure to the pants and the pants sizes were accurate. So, I must be squishing in 5 inches of blubber. But, the 52's would fall right off with out a belt cinching it in quite a bit. I guess it just goes to show what a gelatinous mess I have around my waist. lol

Anyhow, if I lose 1.8 lbs. by next Monday, I will meet the goal of going below 40 bmi. So I am shooting for a 2 lb. loss this week.

Well, I have a long day ahead of me. Tonight, I am taking my father, one of my brothers, my wife, and my 2 oldest kids to the ball game. This will be the kids 1st ball game. I hope they like it.

What are you using to measure your body fat %, a body fat scale? I've got one of those and it's starting to piss me off because I've been hanging around 40% for ages and ages. I don't think I trust mine anymore either. :p

Congrats on your upcoming milestone! I've got about six pounds to go before I break BMI 30. :)

I'm gonna have to see about measuring my BMI - that never occurred to me. Just the scale and the waist measurement (which I'm not gonna post, well, until I find my tape measure...)

Way to go on your loss!

HalftheMan,
Keep up the measurements. Even if your bodyfat measurements are completely accurate they still allow to watch for trends. Keep up the weight training. I do want to tell you though that WT does slow your progress on the scale, but it makes sure all the weight you lose is fat! You will be where I am in one year and you also help motivate me to lose my last 19 lbs.

Congrats on your weightloss! =0)

I didn't go to my first baseball game until I was 19 years old. I was so awed and amazed by how green and beautiful the field was. I hope the game experience was great. I'm now in love with going to the stadium for an afternoon of fun.

I remember when my dad took me and my sisters to a baseball game for the first time. We spent most of the time playing tag by the concession stands. We had a ball! But I think my dad actually wanted to watch the game. Needless to say, that was also the last baseball game he took us to.

You’re progress is so impressive!

Chicken Girl - Congrats on your weight loss. Well done. There is a website that will help you measure body fat, but it does not allow for partial measurements, so I found the formula it uses. The formula depends on sex and age. I can look it up for you if you want. website

Sayre - Thanks. I read the BMI is not nearly as reliable as body fat%, but I use it anyhow.

Captain - Thanks for the encouragement and I am humbled that I had any part in motivating you.

Christine - Thanks. I know there will be bigger bumps in the road, but for now I am enjoying the ride downward so far :)

Vegas Girl, Liliy T, and FLG - The game was fun though they lost after an 8 game winning streak. The oldest didn't end up going as she was having behavioral problems all day. Sometimes, I hate being a parent. Anyhow, it was a nice day, nice stadium, and no obnoxious people seated around us.

Wahoo!! ***doing the happy dance*** Congrats :)

I only take my measurements every few months. I figure when I get a bit closer to my goal I'll have my body fat tested, but right now I sorta of know its proably like 80% fat but that's ok I'm getting healthier every day! Lady Rose (80 lbs lost so far only 60ish to go)

Celtic Girl - Thanks, I hope to leave the 50's behind in the next month.

Lady Rose - Thanks. I hope that I will eventually get accurate readings, but I figure this will help me get an idea of exactly what is happening.
